Whoa, Day 1 was a lot. I know looking at the numbers is one of the most anxiety-inducing experiences ever—but I did it! That’s a huge win, especially for me. My financial situation keeps me up at night and sometimes hijacks my thoughts all day.
So for Day 2, I’m giving myself a break from the numbers. Rome wasn’t built in a day, right? Today is about something I can control right now—my physical space.
I’m tired of the constant overwhelm that comes from feeling like my home is never clean, that I can never find anything. I need my home to be user-friendly, if you will. Even though this is the focus of Day 2, I know I won’t finish everything in a day, but I’m setting the foundation. I want to think realistically about the flow of my home—how can it serve me instead of me serving it?
And just to be clear, this isn’t about aesthetics. It’s about functionality. My home doesn’t need to be perfect; it just needs to work for me.
Speaking of aesthetics, that’s been a recurring theme for me these past couple of years, and honestly, it’s led to some over-consumption and overspending. This time, I’m focusing on what’s important and worrying about “pretty” later—or maybe never. I have goals that don’t involve having the most aesthetic life.
So here’s the plan…I’m going to create a framework for my home—lots of decluttering, systems that actually make sense, and routines I can maintain. I’ve realized that having too many things adds to my mental load instead of bringing joy.
So let’s fix that. ✨
Remember — Day 2 isn’t about doing the physical work.
It’s about deciding what needs to be done.
So, future Jannel, you should’ve already figured this out… and included the PDF below. 💅
